CHEROKEE - Cherokee baseball surrendered five runs to Sioux Central in the top of the first inning in a non-conference baseball game here Wednesday, and though the Braves whittled it down to a 5-4 deficit in the 2nd, it was all Sioux Central from there on as the Rebels posted a 16-4 win over the Braves.
Mason Pitts singled and tripled for Cherokee, while Eric Peterson also tripled and had two RBI and Jack Benson was 3-3 at the plate for the Braves, whose record dropped to 10-13 with the loss.
