Booster Golf benefits Braves
The 15th annual Cherokee Athletic Booster Club Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Cherokee Golf Clourse.
There is a noon shotgun start for the 4-person Best Shot Tournament, with a meal provided by Vernís Sweet Spot Grill, a new dining experience at the Golf Course. Many prizes also will be awarded during the festivities.
This yearís event will feature gues speaker Aaron Thomas at 5 p.m. in the Cherokee Washingto High Auditorium. The son of the late Aplington-Parkersburg legenday football coach Ed Thomas, Aaron today serves as a school Principal, coach and teacher, and public speaker recalling the values and inspirations of his late father who was tragically killed by a deranged former student and player.
The Golf Tournament benefits Cherokee student/athletes through the purchase of equipment and related items for all sports, meals when they travel, etc.
