Absentee voting to begin
City election Nov. 7
Kris Glienke, Cherokee County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections, has announced that absentee ballots for the November 7, 2017, City Election will be available to be voted in the Cherokee County Auditorís Office on Monday, October 16, 2017.
Absentee ballots may be cast in the Cherokee County Auditorís Office at 520 W Main St., Cherokee, IA, during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, through November 6th.
Absentee ballots must be requested in writing. Forms are available at the Auditorís Office, on the Cherokee County web site at www.cherokeecountyiowa.com/electioncity.htm and at the Iowa Secretary of Stateís web site at www.sos.iowa.gov.
All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received by the Auditorís Office by 5 p.m. November 3rd. Ballots returned to the Auditorís Office through the mail must be postmarked by midnight, November 6th.
