No place to park? Wonderful!
It was a joy this past weekend to journey downtown Cherokee and struggle to find a place to park.
The stores were open for their annual holiday hours and Christmas shopping specials, and from the looks of things, many area residents (and several vehicles from surrounding counties!) were in town obviously to shop our friendly, dependable, well-stocked Cherokee merchants.
With holiday muisic playing throughout the City and outstanding warm weather and sunshine, spirits were cheery and bright and everyone appeared to be having a wonderful time sharing this time of year with like-minded souls, purchasing gifts for family and those special in their lives.
That warm weather also gives all of us a break on our heating bills that translates into extra cash in shoppers’ purses and wallets.
With our troubled world today, the devil within deranged murderers of innocents, and an incompetent fool and his falsehoods daily diminishing the White House, it is comforting to know that real people living real lives in real town America can unite in such peaceful, loving, sharing fashion, and support each other in our little slice of heaven others call rural Iowa.
But we get to call it home and wouldn’t have it any other way.
