RV boys lose season opener to WC

CORRECTIONVILLE - A 22-5 run in the second half helped Woodbury Central put away a young River Valley squad, 66-45, in a Western Valley Conference boys' basketball contest here Friday. Prior to their run, the game was fairly close. Colton Johnson, one of three freshmen in the RV starting lineup, paced the Wolverines with 12 points, while fellow frosh Tyler Towne and junior Trey Goettsch each tallied eight points. The game was the season opener for River Valley, while plays at Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto Thursday night.
