Cherokee boys compete at State Qualifying Meet

SHELDON - The Cherokee boys’ track team scored 18 points at Thursday’s Class 2A State Qualifying Track Meet here, but the young Braves did not qualify any events for State.

Cherokee’s 4 x 100 team of Alex Paulsrud, Trevor Lundquist, Tayven Glienke and Daenen Pierce, all underclassmen, finished 4th, with a time of 46.35, and the same runners finished 7th in the 4 x 200 Relay. Sophomore Bryce Kremer finished 7th in the 1,600 Meter Run with a time of 4:56.50.
