Ross Memorial Fund seeks donations
Contributions are being accepted for the proposed Kenneth L. Ross Memorial Fund, which is managed by the Cherokee Educational Foundation at the Cherokee State Bank.
A longtime reporter for the Cherokee Chronicle Times, Cherokee Chronicle, and Cherokee Daily Times, Ross died in September 2017. He faithfully reported on local government with a focus on the School Board.
The first Ken Ross scholarship of $1,000 in memorial money was bestowed this year to WHS senior Maddison Rapp. Organizers wish to sustain the scholarship, and are seeking donations to be able to grow it and offer it each year.
To donate, make a check payable to the Cherokee Educational Foundation noting that the contribution is specifically to the Kenneth L. Ross Memorial Fund.
