KINGSLEY - The Ridge View softball team traveled to Kingsley last Wednesday to take on Western Valley Conference foe Kingsley-Pierson, and the Raptors suffered a tough 5-0 loss.

Katie Brinkman took the loss, allowing five runs (two earned) iand nine hist in six innings hits, strking out three and walking no one.

Ridge View coach Scott Phelps said  the coaches were very pleased with how Brinkman pitched against a good hitting team.

“We are still searching for consistency,” continued Phelps, “as we only managed two hits, but also only struck out two times.”

Phelps said the Raptors had a lot of hard - hit balls that either went right at the K-P defense or on which the Panthers made really good plays. He added that Ridge View committed three errors which cost them three runs, and said the team has to clean up their defense to give themselves a chance to compete at a high level.

“The kids are playing hard , but we just aren't getting the results yet,” concluded Phelps.
