ALTA - The Alta-Aurelia girls scored a run in the bottom of the 8th inning here Tuesday to edge Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove, 2-1, in a non conference softball game. A-Aís runs were driven in by Lily Peterson and Jessica Larson.

Pitcher Abby Kraemer went the distance in the pitcherís circle for the Warriors, allowing one unearned run on four hits in seven innings of work. Kraemer did not walk a single batter and struck out 15. Kraemer has fanned 172 batters in 72 innings pitched this season while issuing only 14 bases on balls, and her ERA for the season is a cool 0.49.

Alta-Aurelia won their 13th game without a loss here Wednesday as they scored a 4-0 Twin Lakes Conference win against Sioux Central, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Junior Abby Kraemer continued her outstanding work in the pitcherís circle, going seven innings and allowing no runs on a single hit, walking one and striking out 15.

The Warriors totaled eight hits, with Brittany and Alicia Turnquist each collecting a pair, including a double by Brittany. Lily Peterson slugged another home run for A-A, her fifth of the season, and Kraemer helped her own cause with a double.
