We are the world, we are the children…

Friday, June 22, 2018

The news that Mexico was one of the first to condemn the United States for separating Mexican children from their parents when crossing into America is not unexpected, but where is everyone else?

All 192 countries should condemn this and the other country, America, obviously won't condemn itself, although our five living first ladies have publicly and in no uncertain terms, condemned this forced separation that has innocent children of all ages crying out in heartbreak, fear and grief for their mommy and daddy.

Meanwhile, our dearly beloved President Donald Trump and his lackeys are all over the TV with their stern faces and locked jaws, determined to build that wall no matter the cost or the level of inhumanity. His actions speak volumes about this guy.

The photo of the little Mexican boy crying is worth a thousand words, although the words of Martin Luther King: 'To ignore evil is to become an accomplice to it.” Or, Edmund Burke: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing” also brings resounding clarity to the U.S. and this administration.

Children are supposed to feel safe and loved. They should laugh, hug, smile, run, and play. And we’re tearing them from their parents and putting them in cages.

What have we become?
