Ellen’s Nail Spa at your service

Friday, September 18, 2020

Ellen’s Nail Spa opened in Cherokee in June at 228 1/2 Main St. Owner/Operators are Ellen Nguyen and DinhVan Ha.

Nguyen and Ha are Sioux City residents who were driving around the area one day and were impressed with Cherokee and its “beautiful” downtown, and felt a welcoming vibe in the community. They happened to spot a “For Lease” sign on the building which used to house the Veteran Affairs office. Attracted to the location and charmed by Cherokee, the pair decided to set up shop. Opening a new business, particularly one that involves operating in close quarters to other people, in the midst of a pandemic, might frighten those with lesser spirits. However, Nguyen and Ha are pleased to report that they have had a steady stream of customers and are quite happy with how good business has been.

They are thankful for the support of local residents and how welcoming everyone has been. The salon space was built up from scratch and is tasteful, clean, and welcoming. The salon offers a variety of services including manicures and pedicures with dipping powder, designs, gel shellac and full set acrylics.

The staff at Ellen’s Nail Spa encourages residents and visitors to stop in and check them and their services out! The entrance is just off West Main Street on the west side of the building.
