Friends of the Library are “Wrapping Up” for the Year

Monday, November 2, 2020

The Friends of the Library have organized and collected donations from community members, which will be put up for their 21st annual silent auction. Each basket is themed around a book and features a variety of goodies. From toys to blankets, baking supplies to Hawkeyes gear, there is a basket for nearly every interest. The basket auction is set to begin in early November, with a Chamber Coffee scheduled for November 13th.

The Friends support the Cherokee Public Library in additional services such as community outreach, fundraising, and programming. Their advocacy creates awareness for the library by sponsoring many programs that benefit patrons of all ages. A public group, any member of the community who wishes to become a Friend of the library is welcome. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said “the only way to have a friend is to be one,” so for all those who are interested, please reach out to the Cherokee Public Library for more information.
