Rebecca L. “Becky” Hoeppner, 60, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 28, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and also for an hour prior to the service on Thursday morning. The service will be livestreamed through the Boothby Funeral Home website with the assistance of Fuller Digital Solutions. Masks will be required and social distancing guidelines will be practiced. Becky was born on March 14, 1960 to Richard and Delores (Wynia) Hoeppner at Cherokee, Iowa. She attended Cherokee Schools and graduated from Washington High School in 1979. She moved into the Mid-Steps Cherry House in 1979 and began working for Cherokee County Work Services. Becky also volunteered at the Early Childhood Learning Center.
She enjoyed playing cards, doing crafts, helping others, dancing and playing Bingo. Becky loved everybody and was kind and easy going. The staff and residents of the Cherry House were just like family to Becky. She liked going on vacations and especially loved staying in motels.
Becky was preceded in death by her father Richard Hoeppner, step-mother Sheryl Hoeppner, half-sister Penny Hudson, brother Merlin Hoeppner, and a step-sister Bridgette Schwebach.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother: Delores Keating of Lampe, Missouri; sister Laura Hoeppner of Omaha, Arkansas, brother David Hoeppner, step-sister Brenda Schwebach of Cherokee, Iowa, step-brothers Brady and Bradley Johnson and Ron Schwebach of Cherokee, Iowa.
