Sanford Museum’s February Artist of the Month

Amber Hansen

February’s artist of the month is Amber Hansen, an assistant professor for the University of South Dakota’s art department. Hansen has an MFA in drawing and painting from the University of Kansas, along with a BFA in painting and printmaking from the University of South Dakota.

Hansen has had an interest in art ever since she was a child. The first time she saw pencil applied to paper, it was like magic. In addition to drawing, Hansen is active in other mediums such as film and musical performance.
