Governor gets the ‘Details’ in Cherokee
Cherokee played host Tuesday to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, visiting here to thank Details Custom Print Studio for their contributions to the state, and for being a success story for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program.
The Goldman Sachs Small Businesses Program is a program that helps Iowa small businesses by providing help and funding. The help can go towards practical education, a supportive network, access to capital, one on one advising, and free courses to help the business grow and prosper.
Details Custom, combined with the Small Businesses Program and their own online sales, were able to stay afloat after starting up during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.
As for what occurred Tuesday, Reynolds and Carrie Lux, the owner of Details Custom Print Studio, had much to discuss. Reynolds gave thanks to Carrie and her employees for the contributions for the state of Iowa, while Lux expressed her gratitude for the Governor and the program in helping her keep her business afloat during the pandemic.
Lux then talked about what she wanted improved with not only her business, but for the Small Businesses Program as a whole. The main two topics were on healthcare for business owners and employees, along with improvements on employment and the supply chain.
Reynolds replied that childcare and healthcare for business owners were in the works with the legislature, while a national marketing campaign with footage of the state was also in the works to try and help improve employment for small businesses across not only Iowa, but for the country as a whole.
Once she was done in Cherokee, the Governor planned to visit Le Mars and Sioux Center next. If you’d like to see her in person, she will also be attending the Iowa State Fair, which runs August 12th thru 22nd.
