School employee changes approved Spooner new WHS AD

The Cherokee School Board Monday night approved eight employee contract extensions, two resignations, and two internal transfers.

Among those contract extensions was the appointment of Jason Spooner as Washington High School Activities Director, replacing former AD Josh Landhuis who will now serve as Middle School Activities Director and continue teaching 5th grade math. Landhuis replaces CMS Principal Scot Aden, who also served as CMS AD before resigning effective at the end of this school year.

Other contract extensions approved were Jayden Wiltgen, CMS Special Education; Julie Hummel, 5-8 Math Curriculum Teacher Leader; Angela Carver, CES Testing & Data Teacher Leader; Cindy Husman, Model/Professional Development Teacher Leader; Ross Fitzgerald, 7th grade Social Studies; Nancy Rihland, CMS Special Education Teacher and Success Coach; and Krista Miller, Kindergarten Teacher.

Resignations were accepted from Lori Aden, Food Service; and Matt Malausky, CMS Football, Basketball, and Track Coach. Malsudky will replace Scot Aden as CMS Principal.

Internal transfers include Gail Kremer, Kindergarten Teacher to 4th grade Teacher; nd Kady Smith, 1st grade Teacher to Success Coach.
