Bulldogs have long night at #8 L-M

Aurelia girls also lose, 48-32

LAURENS – Though they trailed by just five points after the first quarter of their basketball game here on Jan. 27th, the Aurelia Bulldog boys were “just not there,” said their coach, Grant Peckenschneider.

The Bulldogs wound up losing the Northwest Conference game by a score of 75-32, and Peckenschneider summed it up succinctly, saying, “We could do no right, and they could do no wrong.”

Jordan Glawe led the ‘Dogs with nine points and eight rebounds, while Aaron Bruce scored eight and had four caroms, and Camrin Meyer scored six points for the ‘Dogs, who shot 28% from the field, 47% from the line, and committed 21 turnovers.

 

 

Coach Peckenschneider said of Laurens-Marathon, “They played like the number 8 team in the state should play on their home floor.” Adam Woodin led the Chargers with 19 points and Caleb Jamison added 18.

In the curtain raiser, the Bulldog girls lost to the Chargers by a 48-32 score. Meghan Glawe led the Bulldog scoring with 13 points and Shaina Thevenin added 10. Glawe had a double-double, with 10 rebounds to go with her 13 points. Audrey Winterhof had six boards for the Bulldogs, along with four assists.

L-M had three girls score in double figures, led by Amanda Zylstra’s 15 points. Laina Sullivan scored a dozen and Kim Kenobbie had 10 points.
