Rosemary Clausen Center announces open house

Center also widens season ticket sales

The season ticket sales for the 2010-11 entertainment series at the Rosemary Clausen Center in Holstein has been opened up to the general public, according to ticket director Ken Buell.

Contributors to the capital campaign to build the facility were given three weeks to receive ordering preference for season tickets. “That was the fair thing to do,” explained Buell, “but now that the deadline has passed, we can sell tickets to anyone who is interested in great entertainment, regardless of donor status. We have about 100 seats left to sell.”

“This is a unique opportunity to become a charter season ticket holder in a new facility, one whose management is committed to attracting top-level entertainers and promises to continue doing so in the future if the public supports it.” Buell went on to describe other benefits to having season tickets.

“First, you save money over single event prices. You’ll also have the same reserved seats for every show, and perhaps most important, you will have first rights to renew your season tickets in the future. This assures your position in future years, and since our goal is to sell out the house with season tickets, this can make your tickets even more valuable.”

Shows on the 2010-11 season ticket include Divapalooza on Sept. 25; Girl Singers of the Hit Parade on Nov. 6; An Evening With Groucho on Jan, 29, 2010; RedHead Express on Feb. 18, 2010; Just Friends on March 1, 2010 and The Duttons from Branson on April 15, 2010. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m.

“I’ll stack our entertainment package up against anyone’s in this region,” challenged Buell, “but our price for six great shows is just $130, and the shows are in Holstein, not Sioux City or Omaha. We even have free parking. Seriously, for information regarding the sale or the shows, contact us at 712-368-4849. We’ll do our level best to help you.”

Kathy Breyfogle, the Galva-Holstein foundation president, announced a Grand Opening Open House on Sunday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. “This event is open to the public and will give folks a chance to see and get acquainted with the new facility. Not all of the final trimmings will be in place,” explained Breyfogle, “but this will be a great opportunity to see what so many people have helped build. We’ll also have guest appearances from leaders in the project, as well as some local entertainment. We hope to have some fun with this, and we’ll serve refreshments and snacks when we’re finished.

Season tickets, if still available, will be on sale at the Open House, as well as tickets for the Sunday Matinee performances that are not on the season ticket package. The All America Concert Band will perform Oct. 17, the Girl Singers of the Hit Parade will do a show on Nov. 7, and “An Evening with Groucho” will be presented Jan. 30, 2011. All show times are 2 p.m.

In addition, international star Simon Estes will present an unforgettable Christmas show on Sunday, Dec. 12. Details for that sale will be announced at a later date, and Buell advised that season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase those tickets. “It’s just one more advantage to having season tickets.”

In fund raising news, three more donors have stepped forward to contribute to the project. Jeff and Brenda Cronin sponsored a seat, Roger and Mary Dreeszen joined in at the Tradition Level and Community Bank donated at the Silver Level. For more information about how you can get involved as a donor, season ticket holder or both, call 712-368-4849.
