Sandy Brownmiller-Jones

Cherokee, IA – Sandy Brownmiller-Jones, 72, of Cherokee, Iowa, died Monday, January 16, 2023 at UNMC in Omaha, NE, with family at her bedside.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2023, at the VFW in Cherokee from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Sandy was born on August 26, 1951 in Cherokee, Iowa to Archie and Lorraine Brownmiller. She attended school at Immaculate Conception Catholic School and graduated in 1967. She grew up in Cherokee and spent most of her life in Cherokee.

She later married Donald Clement in 1976. She worked many years at Cherokee Villa and Sioux Valley Hospital. She also took care of many people in their homes. She recently worked and retired from Mid-Steps in Cherokee.

She enjoyed shopping and doing things with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing Super Nintendo with her sister, Juanita, and Bill. Her all-time favorite place was the Dollar Tree. She will always be remembered by her laugh and her spitfire nature.

Survivors include two daughters: Wendy Kruger (Curtis Parks) of Lawton, IA, and Tina (Jeremy) Sperling of Stromsburg, NE; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister Juanita Brownmiller (Bill Cates) of Cherokee; many nieces and nephews, and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Vicki Brownmiller; and a brother, Andy Brownmiller. Sandy will be truly missed by all those lives she touched.

Memorials may be sent to the family, and plants and flowers can be sent to 640 Park Ave., Cherokee, IA.
