Memorial services for Barbara G. Hollibaugh, 88, of Aurelia will be held at a later date in Winfield, Kansas. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia, Iowa, is in charge of local arrangements.

Barbara Gale Allred was born on October 30, 1934 in Jackson, Mississippi the daughter of Robert Henry and Helen (Mahon) Allred. She attended school in Natchez, MS, graduating in 1952. She later attended North Iowa Community College. On September 18, 1954 Barbara married Ralph Robert Hollibaugh at Bay St. Louis, MS. Barbara was a homemaker and she liked to sew, garden, and cook, and loved birds, arranging flowers, and doing crossword puzzles. She was known for her writing. Many of her published writings were featured in the local newspaper under the nom de plume, Sarah Gordeau. Her faith in Jesus was her never ending source of strength. She was a member of the Clear Lake Women’s Club, Gentilly Garden Club, Republican Women’s Club, Progress Club, and was a Girl Scout Leader and a church camp counselor.

Barbara died on Saturday, March 11th, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Aurelia, Iowa, where she had been living since December of 2015.

Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, her husband Robert on January 29, 2016, and her siblings.

Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her children; Holly and her husband Ted Peck of Cherokee, IA, Bradley and his wife Linda Hollibaugh of Kingwood, TX, Julie and her husband Tim De Stigter of Aurelia, IA, Farley Hollibaugh of Crosby, TX, Stanley and his wife Emily Hollibaugh of Kingwood, TX, and foreign exchange son Maarten and his wife Jantine Gijsbers of Oegstgeest, The Netherlands. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Libby and husband Dan Gustafson of Cherokee, IA, Lana and husband Robert Martinez of Waukee, IA, Hannah Hollibaugh of Kingwood, TX, Clara Hollibaugh of Kingwood, TX, Robert Holibaugh and Dulcie Dahle of Ocean Springs, MS, Phillip and wife Luvia Hollibaugh of Kingwood, TX, and Jennifer and husband Mark Miller of Boise, ID, thirteen great-grandchildren; Cole, Lilah, and Annabelle Gustafson, Charlotte and Olivia Martinez, Bradley and Jack Hollibaugh, Felicia, Samantha, and Julio Barron, Gavin Garcia, and Max and Finley Miller, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
