BRANDON C. SCHUKNECHT, 41, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Wednesday night, December 27, 2023, surrounded by his family after a 2-year battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 p.m. on Friday evening until the service time. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. Brandon was born on May 24, 1982 to Bruce and Karal (Tibbetts) Schuknecht in Cherokee, Iowa. He attended Sioux Central and South O’Brien Schools, graduating from South O’Brien in 2000. He earned an Associate of Arts degree from Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. He worked for Hy-Vee Warehouse from 2019 until 2023. Brandon was united in marriage to his wife, Dakota on November 4, 2022 in Cherokee, Iowa. Brandon was a diehard Las Vegas Raiders fan and was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed playing Xbox and Nintendo. He loved his 1964 Dodge and going swimming. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Jean Tibbetts, paternal grandfather and grandmother Roy and Irene Schuknecht, mother-in-law Wendy Baker, cousins Christopher Schuknecht, and Tatum Tibbetts, sister-in-law Hunter Brookfield, and niece Zoie Brookfield.
