Cathy Marie Eischen, daughter of Raymond and Marjorie (Raasch) Timmerman, was born on December 19, 1948 in Cherokee, Iowa. She spent her childhood years in Cherokee, where she graduated from Washington High School in 1967. After graduation, Cathy attended Nettleton Business College and put that education to work, being employed by a local attorney and several banks in Cherokee.
On November 13, 1976, Cathy married Leo Eischen at Maryhill Church. Together they made their home on a farm west of Cherokee and raised two daughters, Megan and Edi.
Cathy was a brilliant cook, holidays were full of good food and big family gatherings. She always had a chocolate chip cookie or a sandwich around if someone happened to stop by the house. There was always an extra seat at the table for lunch. She developed a love of watercolor painting and had an exhibit at the Sanford Museum in 2018. She loved spending time in the garden, she grew beautiful flowers and loved to harvest vegetables during the summer. She treasured the importance of family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Cathy passed away at her home, with her family by her side, on February 24, 2023, at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marjorie Timmerman, brother, Larry Timmerman and sister, Linda Dye.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Leo Eischen, children, Megan Eischen (Mat) Nelson and Edi (Matt) Hepler, grandchildren, Oliver and Marlow Hepler, sister, Beverly Klingbeil, other relatives and friends.
