The Cherokee community is invited to a free pork loin sandwich drive-thru dinner on Sunday, Dec. 22, from 3-5 p.m. or until supplies last.
The event, hosted by the Cherokee WHS FFA, Food For the Souls Ministry, Cherokee County Pork Producers and the Jeff & Deb Hansen Foundation — Ignite the Spirit, will take place in the upper-level parking lot of the Cherokee Community Center.
Each meal will include a pork loin sandwich, chips, an apple and a cookie. A limit of five meals per vehicle applies.
“The Jeff & Deb Hansen Foundation believes everyone deserves a good meal, especially during the holidays,” the organization said in a statement. “As farmers, we’re proud of the product we produce. Pork is a lean and powerful protein that nourishes bodies young and old.”
The foundation awarded the Cherokee WHS FFA four cases of pork loins and $500 to support the community meal.
