Eric Lee Ivarson, 44, of rural Cleghorn, passed away on March 5 unexpectedly from medical complications following a fall on his farm. He leaves behind his wife Annie, and 6 sons: Kiefer Lee (10), Kayson Joseph (8), Koy David (6), Kale Patrick (4), Kru Victor (2), and Kamden Craig (4 months).
Eric was the first-born son of Craig and Lynn Ivarson born on May 12, 1978, in Cherokee. He attended Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn community schools and graduated from Dordt College in 2001, majoring in Ag Business. He began farming soon after and on July 23, 2011, he married his love, Annie Stoll, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Primghar, IA.
Eric was deeply rooted in his family, farming, and faith. He was a devoted father and husband who loved spending time together fishing or boating on many Sunday afternoons. As a farmer Eric was known for his ingenuity, always rebuilding equipment, and inventing creative solutions. He was a visionary and not afraid of a challenge. His generous and gentle spirit will be greatly missed, he was a steady and loyal presence for all who knew him. He loved his Savior Jesus Christ and led his family in following God’s Truths.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents Ervin (Barbara) Ivarson and Ed (Betty) Bjorge and Annie’s grandfathers Joseph Stoll and Duane Haley. Along with his wife and boys, Eric is survived by his parents Craig and Lynn Ivarson, brother Joel (Wendy) Ivarson, and sister Kristin (Nick) Patterson of Cherokee. Annie’s parents David (Teresa) Stoll of Linn Grove, brother Adam (Jamie) Stoll of Primghar, sister Aubree (Brian) Thole of Ashton and grandmothers Shirley Stoll and Joan Haley. He will be greatly missed by his extended family, community, and friends.
