Evan Patrick Carlson, 57, of Whitefish, Montana, passed away on February 22, 2023, in Whitefish, after a short battle with cancer.
Evan was born on June 3, 1965, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Donald “Butch” Carlson and Margaret Carlson. He grew up in Cherokee where he graduated from Washington High School in 1983. After graduation, Evan went to Dallas, Texas, and worked in the construction industry. He met his wife, Deborah, in 1990, and in 1992 they moved to Whitefish, Montana, where Evan founded his own general contracting business, building high-end homes in the Northwest Montana and the Glacier Park areas. Evan and Deborah were married on October 5, 1995.
Surviving Evan is his wife, Deborah; mother, Margaret Carlson; brothers Andy Carlson (Patti), Tim Carlson, Barry Carlson (Lisa), Dana Carlson (Debbie), Paul Carlson (Melinda), sister-in-law, Chris Carlson, many beloved nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Rebecca Boske (Gary). He is preceded in death by his father, Donald “Butch” Carlson and by his brother, Morey Carlson.
Evan enjoyed many outdoor activities including a love for hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He had a loving heart, infectious smile and contagious laugh. He and wife, Deborah, had recently planned to return to Northwest Iowa to retire and spend more time with family and longtime friends.
