GLENN W. CAVE , 96, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, surrounded by his family in his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Jonathan Riggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Marcus Amherst Cemetery at Marcus, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com. Glenn was born on March 21, 1928 in Cherokee County, Iowa to Merle and Dee (Cook) Cave. He attended school in the country through the 8th grade and graduated from Marcus High School in 1946. He married Delores Hohbach on August 21, 1949 in Germantown, Iowa. He farmed near Marcus, Germantown, and Cherokee for 60 years. He resided in the Cherokee area since 1956, moving to town in 2003. Glenn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving in many capacities of the church. Glenn served on the Farm Bureau Board for 15 years, served on the Cherokee County Pork Producers Board for many years and enjoyed working in the grilling tent at the Iowa State Fair. He was President of the Rural Cherokee Fire Department for many years. He loved to fish and hunt. Glenn loved cruising around in his 1957 Chevrolet. He loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores, daughter June Marie Cave, grandson Jeremy Borror, son-in-law R.C. Borror, 2 brothers Jim and Kenny, 4 sisters Dorothy, Lucille, Gracie, and Mary. Glenn is survived by his five children, Janet Miller and her husband Paul of Paullina, Iowa, Richard Cave and wife Jean of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, David Cave and his wife Jeanne of Cherokee, Iowa, Duane Cave of Cherokee, Iowa, and Joan Cave-Borrer of Geneva, Nebraska; 13 grandchildren, Travis Miller and friend Ashley of Moville, Iowa, Heather and Bill Bremer of Sioux City, Iowa, Tyler Miller of Omaha, Nebraska, Stacey Konz and husband Jeremy of Rock Valley, Iowa, Ashley Hoiby and husband Nate of Bismark, North Dakota, Patrick Cave and wife Mia of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Melissa Orr and her husband Andy of Hamilton Montana, Christopher Cave, Kyle Cave, Chelsea Cave and special friend Landon, and Andrew Cave all of Cherokee, and Emily (Isaac) Roelfs of Eseter, Nebraska; 14 great grandchildren, Gabriel and husband Bryce, Emma Orr, Annika Bremer, Jillian Bremer, Lydia Bremer, Jazlyn Hoiby, Ike Hoiby, Jackson Gaul, Aubriee Cave, Bennett Cave, Dante Cave, Aliya Wagamon, Chloe Borror, and Beau Roelfs.
