JUDY E. STIENEKE, 79, of Washta, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Careage Hills Nursing Home in Cherokee, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Ray Ohlendorf will officiate. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at Boothby Funeral Home. Burial will be held in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa. Judy was born on January 18, 1944 to Lloyd and Lela (Small) Huffman at Anthon, Iowa. She attended Washta Schools, graduating in 1962. She was united in marriage to Marvin Stieneke on April 6, 1963 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby, Iowa.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Stieneke Trucking starting in 1961. She also worked for K-Products in Marcus, Iowa.
Judy was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby, Iowa.
In her free time, Judy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, beadwork, quilting, embroidery, reading books, and visiting with friends and family.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Lela Huffman, husband Marvin in 2018, and daughter Peggy Stieneke in 2009.
Judy will lovingly be remembered by her children, Nita Stieneke of Washta, Iowa, Wanda Stieneke of Cherokee, Iowa, Sis Stieneke of Washta, Iowa, Susan (Shawn) Allen of Fritch, Texas, Bryan (Amy) Stieneke of Washta, Iowa, and Rachel Stieneke of Tea, South Dakota; 14 grandchildren Kelsie (Tanner) Carlson, Cassandra (Noah) Laible, Jessica (Don) Hand, Boomer (Kassie) Klaschen, Coy (Mackenzie) Zollman, Alicia (Will) Carpenter, Baylee (Olvin) Allen-Ortiz, Dustin (Emily) Stieneke, Brittany Stieneke, Ethan Bruning, Lacey Stieneke, Riley Stieneke, Kegan Stieneke, and Abbie Stieneke; 12 great-grandchildren with 2 coming soon; sister Joyce and Willie Allbaugh of Quimby, Iowa.
