MONTE L. HORTON, 58, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, formerly of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Monte was born on December 22, 1965 to Al and Cecilia (Risner) Horton at Cherokee, Iowa. He worked most of his life in the restaurant industry as a cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittney Lewis of Tomah, Wisconsin and his 2 grandchildren, Domanic and Hunter Lewis; siblings, Robert and Gail Horton of Colorado, Cindy Horton of Cherokee, Iowa, Laura and Mike Paeper of Spencer, Iowa, Mark and Denise Horton of Cherokee, Iowa, Marla and Chad Morrow of Cushing, Iowa, and Shannon Stevens of Sioux City, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; also several aunts and uncles.
