Norma M. Mahnke, 89, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Monday afternoon, December 12, 2022,  at Cherokee Specialty Care in Cherokee, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.  Pastor Jonathan Riggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday, December 16th from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Norma was born on January 2, 1933 at Cherokee, Iowa to Lawrence & Rosa (Schwenn) Noah. She attended Cherokee Wilson High Schools. She was married to Robert M. Mahnke on May 30, 1952 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.

She worked in the housekeeping department at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee.

She was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Norma loved bowling, watching gameshows and sports on t.v., and going camping. She liked attending her grandkids activities, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Rosa Noah, her husband Robert, daughters, Julie Stines and Kathy Stines, grandson, Scott Stines, and sister, Donna Bingham.

Norma is survived by her son, Steven Mahnke of Cherokee, Iowa; six grandchildren, Morgan (Jake) Gravenish of Cherokee, Iowa, Seth (Kassie) Mahnke of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Nicholas Stines of Cherokee, Iowa, Kimberly Stines of Correctionville, Iowa, Kayla Stines of Correctionville, Iowa, and Rob Stines of Cherokee, Iowa; 17 great grandchildren, sister, Lois Goth of Cherokee, Iowa, brother, Lawrence (Jan) Noah of Brandon, South Dakota; son-in-law, Rick Stines; also several nieces, nephews, and friends.
