Peggy Renee Jaminet, age 75 of rural Cherokee, IA, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at her residence in Cherokee. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, IA. Father Dan Rupp will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cherokee. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Peggy Renee Jaminet, the daughter of Ralph and Arlene (Kracht) Brown, was born April 28, 1949, in Cherokee, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee, IA, where she attended school and graduated from Washington High School in 1967. She attended some college in Sioux City, IA and worked for St. Josephs Hospital as a receptionist in the Leukemia Department.
On September 1, 1973, she was united in marriage to Fred Jaminet at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. They purchased a farm north of Cherokee, IA, where she managed the house along with bookkeeping for the farm and seed business.
Peggy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, IA. she liked to crochet, bake, read, shop, and mow the yard. Most of all, she loved the time spent with family and friends.
On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Peggy passed away at her home surrounded by her family after an almost 3 year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Arlene Brown; and one infant sister, Beverly Brown.
She will lovingly be remembered by her husband, Fred Jaminet of rural Cherokee, IA; daughter, Mindi (Thomas Davis) and children Ella Sollom and Olivia Sollom, all of Northfield, MN; siblings, Rodney (Marci) Brown of Cherokee, IA, Greg (Cheri) Brown of Peterson, IA, and Jeff (Patty) Brown of Cherokee, IA; four sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
