Raptor baseball beats Raiders, Titans

The Ridge View baseball team won a pair of games this past week, first a 12-1 home win over East Sac County on Friday before a 6-1 road victory at South Central Calhoun on Monday.

On Thursday the Raiders scored a run in the first, but the Raptors followed with two runs in the second and five in each the third and fourth innings.

Ridge View had 11 hits, six singles, four doubles and a triple, with 12 RBIs. They were walked once and hit by two pitches. Junior Kyle Burk scored a run and hit two doubles for four RBIs while junior Noah Struck hit a triple for three RBI.s Eighth grader Aiden Myrtue scored three runs, hit two singles and had an RBI, sophomore Blake Myrtue scored twice, hit two doubles and had an RBI and sophomore Owen Worthan scored two runs and had an RBI.

Sophomore Kinnick Jensen and Aiden Myrtue stole two bases each while junior Gavin Vohs, Worthan and sophomore Eli Franken each took one. Eighth grader Ryan Barry pitched the whole game and allowed two hits, one run and struck out seven.

In the win over South Central Calhoun, the Raptors scored a run in the first and the Titan tied it up with a run in the fourth. Ridge View added five more in the sixth inning to take the 6-1 victory.

Ridge View had eight hits, six singles and two doubles, with six RBIs. They were walked five times and struck out nine times. Blake Myrtue scored a run, hit a double and had two RBIs while Barry hit two singles and had an RBI. Burk scored a run, hit a double and had an RBI, junior Conner Jacobson scored a run, hit a single and had an RBI and Struck and Aiden Myrtue each scored a run and hit a single.

Barry, Jacobson and Blake Myrtue each stole a base in the game. Jensen pitched all seven innings and allowed three hits, one run, hit one batter and struck out nine.

Ridge View is now 14-8 and was scheduled to face Akron-Westfield on Wednesday. They will host 6-17 MVAOCOU on Saturday at 7 p.m. for the first round of the substate tournament.
