Wolverines, Royals compete in War Eagle Conference Meet

HAWARDEN - The MMCRU and South O’Brien cross country team’s ran in the War Eagle Conference Meet, hosted by West Sioux, on Monday night.

  The South O’Brien girls placed third while the MMCRU girls competed as individuals. Unity Christian won the meet while Hinton took second.

  Taja Conley led the Wolverines with an eighth place finish in a time of 24:04.45 while Takara Conley followed in 25th at 26:56.63. Elodie Wilson came in 27th at 27:13.40, Abby Stout placed 45th at 31:39.41 and Laci Kenney got 56th at 38:02.10.

  Audrey Etter paced the Royals with a fourth place finish and a time of 23:40.66. Alyson Ball came in 43rd at 31:09.55 and Natalie Plagman placed 49th at 33:25.60.

  In the boys race, the South O’Brien  team got seventh while the Royals ran as individuals. Unity Christian won the meet while Hinton took second and Trinity Christian came in third.

  Ben Woodall led South O’Brien in 18th place with a time of 20:04.22 while Ethan Schwarz followed in 40th at 23:39.55. Ian Oliver placed 47th at 24:32.16, Brett Evan came in 57th at 25:55.10 and Dominic Rounds got 59th at 26:26.30.

  Kaden Galles led the Royals in second place with a time of 18:07.25 while Lucas Braun followed in seventh at 19:23.87. Owen Alesch took 12th at 19:34.56 and Max Pepper placed 52nd at 25:05.50.

  The Royals will run in Orange city at Unity Christian on tonight at 4:30 p.m. while both team’s will compete in the State Qualifying Meet on Thursday, October 20, at 4 p.m. in Holstein.
