Join us for a festive county-wide museum tour celebrating local history, cherished traditions and the spirit of Christmas in Cherokee County.
Each museum stop will be beautifully decorated and filled with holiday warmth, stories of the past, and family-friendly fun! Stops include the Sanford Museum and Planetarium in Cherokee; the Illinois Central Railroad Depot in Cherokee; the Aurelia Heritage Center; the Marcus Historical Center; and the Grand Meadow Heritage Center. The tour will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 7, from 12-4 p.m.
How it works
Pick up your Heritage Holiday Passport at your first stop, then travel the route to each participating museum.
Collect a stamp at every location and when your passport is full, receive the exclusive 2025 Heritage Holiday ornament as a thank you for celebrating with us!
