The Sanford Museum’s Art Wall in Cherokee features the vibrant paintings of Heather Dittmar of Des Moines. “For years, my art has felt rigid and centered on perfection,” she writes in an artist’s statement. “Tedious hours of corrections and self-deprecating talk, just to hate the result. As Time has passed, and I have grown older, learning to let go and let god has become my new path.”
