EARL C. CRESAP, 81, of Cherokee, Iowa, formerly of Larrabee, Iowa, passed away on Friday morning, October 25, 2024 at Accura Healthcare of Cherokee.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, at 1:30 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Jonathan Riggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Nemaha Cemetery at Nemaha, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Military rites will be conducted following the memorial service at the funeral home by L.A.Wescott Post #2253 of the V.F.W. and the Cherokee American Legion. Earl was born on April 2, 1943 to Everett and Susie (Souther) Cresap at Valley City, North Dakota. He attended Aurelia Schools before entering into the United States Army on March 24, 1964, where he served in Vietnam as an SP4, USAR. He was honorably discharged on February 28, 1970.
He was united in marriage to Kathryn Duchow on June 8, 1969 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Havillah, Washington. Earl worked as a farm hand for John Wilkie for many years before going to work for Schoon Construction from 1983 until his retirement in 2019.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.
In his free time, he enjoyed attending auctions, collecting toy trucks, tractors, and cars, and supporting the 4-H Cavaliers group.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn in 2002, parents Everett and Susie Cresap, siblings Marion, Chuck, Esther, and Lillie, and his son-in-law Steve Brownlow.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Michelle Brownlow of Senoia, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law Ethel and Wayne Rupp of Cherokee, Iowa; also several nieces, nephews, and friends.
