Help the BV County Fair

The Buena Vista County Fair is fast approaching, and with it the need for donations to make this year’s five-day event a success.

“As we prepare for this exciting week, the Fair Board is still short of its fundraising goal for

the year,” reports Jennifer Launderville of the BV County Fair Board. “These funds are essential to cover fairground upkeep, entertainment for the fair and to continue offering quality, affordable programming to the public.”

This year’s fair runs Wednesday, July 9 through Sunday, July 13 at the fairgrounds in Alta.

Can you help? If you believe in supporting local traditions, youth programs, and community events, please consider making a donation.

Donations can be sent to: BV County Fair, PO Box 125, Alta, IA 51002. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure the future of the BV County fair thrives.

Attendees can enjoy a variety of exciting events including:

Grandstand favorites like Dirt Track Racing, Western Iowa Tractor Pullers, Motocross, the Demo Derby, and two concerts — featuring Sequoia Newland and Cory Waller & the Wicked Things.

• A full carnival with rides, games, and food by Scott Amusements.
• Livestock shows, 4-H & open-class exhibits, pedal pulls, dog agility shows, foam parties, a BBQ contest and the Fair Royalty crowning.
