Myron Radke | Aurelia Kiwanis
What in the wide, wide world of sports is it with this weather? It was so cold this morning that we saw a dog frozen to a fire hydrant. Yikes
Even Mother Nature in all her fury, could not keep the greatest Kiwanis Club ever from meeting. Our attendance was outstanding because we want to do everything in our power to make Aurelia and its kids the best place in the world to live.
Ain't never seen nothing like this in all my put together. What a great group of people dedicated to changing everything for the better.
Bet you want to join up don't you? Feel bad for the ones that have a REASON not to join, like having to get kids ready for school, but on the other hand we can name at least 25 other people that have an EXCUSE for not being a Kiwanian. Unless you are a dim bulb, the difference is quite obvious.
There are still some really great people out there (men and women) that love kids and Aurelia that would find great satisfaction helping our community be even better.
See you Thursday morning.
Our day began with another belly busting beautiful breakfast of the finest quinine made up of biscuits and gravy, provided for our dining pleasure by the incomparable master chef, Amy.
Wow wee sports fans it was truly and exciting and tasteful breaking of bread. (Or biscuits)
Thanks, Amy, you are the best.
My wife complained I never by her flowers. Shoot, I didn't even know she sold flowers. Yikes..
Our speaker for the day was Jana Galvin who talked to us about a possible "Aurelia Story Walk". This would consist of a series of pages from a story book that would be placed on the Kiwanis Walking Path for the young ones to read as the walked along the path. The enlarged pages would be put on pedestals spaced along the path so the story could be read by anyone.
I know that explanation made everything clear as mud. Yikes.
If and when it comes about we will furnish more details.
Anyway, she made a very interesting presentation which was accepted in a positive nature by our Aurelia Kiwanis Club.
Thanks Jana.
As a point of interest, in a couple of our business meetings,(which is none of your business), our business concerned the same business. That is the business of a Story Path business. We therefore had a multitude of questions and suggestions. That's good business. We then carried on with other business which is also none of your business because you are not a member of the Kiwanis Club who discusses a lot of business.
Jana also asked for some financial help for the Easter egg hunt sponsored by Friends Of Aurelia. We were more than happy to donate a fist full of dollars to their cause, because that's what we do. Help make kids happy. Struck a nerve there didn't I. He, he.
I think we gave them around $500,000.00. Wait, maybe that much, but you know me and decimal points. Yikes.
Business was then handled like business as usual business, in that it is none of your business, except we did decide to erect 21 new flag poles along the Kiwanis Walking path.
The poles have been delivered and are waiting until spring to begin digging. Exciting new addition.
The rest of the business .......ok enough.
Have a great week and see you Thursday.
Hugs are a good thing.
Hugs, hugs, hugs.
