Thursday, June 5 Meeting
Ok here we go again with vim and vigor headed out with great speed compared to a herd of turtles. Yikes.
Beautiful morning with beautiful people. Think I would join the great Aurelia Kiwanis club just to get to hang around with some of the best and most positive people on Gods good earth. Man, what an energetic, exciting, fun loving, hard working, smart, good old boys and girls. It’s just a pure pleasure and privilege to be a part of this group that wants to help kids and make Aurelia a better place to live and raise a family.
Amy came through with another fantastic breakfast. Will have to ask her sometime how early she gets up to prepare this kind of feast. Awesome again Amy. Thank you.
We learned that in the old days a farmer was milking his cow when a fly flew into the cows ear. A few minutes later the fly goes plop into the milk bucket. In one ear and out the utter. Yikes.
Our speaker for the day was Jeff Bowen. Jeff gave us a brief history of his career and went on to explain his inventions. He said he has three patents and does business all over the world. Then he went into detail and was that ever interesting. Our
Kiwanians had a bunch of questions that he answered, but you don’t get to know them because you are not a Kiwanian. Haha.
Thanks Jeff. We really appreciated your presentation.
Now down to business.
Dewey Appleseed wanted to make sure we thanked Al The Trucker and Denny The parts Man, as well as Dave Sturupper for their help in planting the three new trees along the new portion of the great Kiwanis Walking Path. Jackie also helped as long as she could, but had a prior commitment so had to leave early.
Thank you all for the help.
The other item of discussion we will let you in on is that the Iowa State-Iowa football game is at 11 a.m. on Sept. 7th -- the same day as our car show and family day. We will probably proceed with our plans and maybe have the game on a TV in the shelter house. All the time something.
Gotta go. Take care of you and yours. Hugs.
NEXT MEETING: Thursday, June 19, at 7 a.m. at Aurelia Community Center.
