Thursday, June 12 Meeting
What a beautiful morning for the weekly meeting of the greatest Kiwanis Club known to mankind. Now that’s a fact Jack. Beautiful morning, meeting beautiful people, and a great speaker.
First, however, we need to eat, and that we did. Once again Amy provided a breakfast for all the Kiwanians. What an early morning feast. I would join Kiwanis just for the breakfasts. Amy you are the best cook ever. Thanks again.
Hope you enjoyed your ham hocks and porridge this morning. Hehe. And stop eating the rolls with the gray fuzzy stuff growing on them. Yuck.
First of all we learned that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue. Yikes.
Our speaker for the day was our own State Senator Lynn Evans. Lynn gave us a review of the last congressional session. A lot of his presentation was concerning his being the leader of the education committee, and what they accomplished. Sure happy my old boss, and student is heading up this committee.
Great to listen to a politician that uses good old fashioned common sense. He also told us about his considering running for the open seat in our National Senate. Wow.
He also told us that .... oh oh I think he wanted to speak to the Kiwanians this morning. I’m sure he would love to talk to you, but don’t know how much was just meant for the Kiwanians.
Better just stop there. Join Kiwanis and enjoy a new speaker each week. If you don’t believe me, just ask any Kiwanian. It’s great fun and educational, not to mention all the great things we do for kids and the city of Aurelia.
This week our business meeting was our business, and not yours. So it’s business as usual concerning our business.
After we adjourned many great Kiwanians helped put up 10 flags on the Kiwanis Path in recognition of Flag Day Saturday, June 14th. Thanks, what a great group of people.
Gotta go. Have a great week. Hugs.
NEXT MEETING: Thursday, June 26, at 7 a.m. at Aurelia Community Center.
