Thursday, May 15 Meeting
My wife told me to put catsup on our grocery list. I did, and now we can’t read anything. Yikes.
Oops getting ahead of myself, but see what you can learn from the greatest Kiwanis Club in the world. Amazing isn’t it?
Our day began with another great breakfast served by our own special chef “Amy the Magnificent”. She served two different kinds of egg dishes, and both of which were outstanding. Can’t thank you enough Amy. You are the best.
How was your boiled possum belly and burnt to a crisp grits?
Prunes for desert? Yikes.
Our speaker for the day was Brian, our police chief. What a fantastic presentation. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated law enforcement officer in Aurelia. He told us about a new program he is president of, that is working to improve their enforcement efforts.
I think we had right at 300 Kiwanians present today - ok maybe not quite 300 - and they had a ton of questions. He is a true professional and is kind enough to put up with us at least once a year.
I know I tease you about not being a Kiwanian, but you truly do miss out on some great speakers. Brian told us stories about some local issues that we as common citizens know nothing about. Some of them are a bit scary.
Thank you Brian for your service.
Now down to the business of the business meeting.
Everything we talked about in our business meeting is our business and none of your business. So again business as usual.
As mentioned earlier, we have had some really great speakers over the years, but are always looking for more. If any of you would like to be a speaker or know of anyone that would be of interest, please let one of the Kiwanians know. Can always use fresh ideas.
Thanks everyone for your great support. Aurelia has some really great people even if you are not a Kiwanian. You are the best. Take care of you and yours. Hugs.
NEXT MEETING: Thursday, May 29, at 7 a.m. at Aurelia Community Center.
