Thursday, May 22 Meeting
Now hear this, now hear this, it’s Memorial Day weekend. Hope you all enjoy you first holiday of summer. Kinda cold. Anyway enjoy. All that is asked is somewhere in your long holiday you stop long to just give a thought as to why you get to be celebrating. Freedom isn’t free. A lot of good people died to make sure you had this weekend to enjoy. Again, freedom isn’t free. Home of the free because of the brave.
Ok, today’s Kiwanis meeting began with sunshine. Amy delivered another great breakfast of biscuits and gravy and oranges. Wow, thanks Amy.
How was your toast with crystallized honey. After three years, you might want to consider buying new honey. Were your fried chicken gizzards good? Sure hope so.
Become a Kiwanian and eat like royalty.
Thanks again Amy.
Our speaker for the day was Louie. He told us about his job and how much he enjoys helping veterans. His main theme was that if you are a veteran or know of a veteran that could take advantage of the Veterans Administrations programs. Louie will do everything in his power to get you all the perks you deserve.
He also told us that when... here we go again. You were not there so we think his message was for Kiwanian. Man do you miss a lot not being part of the greatest Kiwanis Club in the entire universe.
Now down to business. Our business meeting is our business and again none of your business, but will let you in on some of our business, not yours.
We decided to build a sign to recognize our walking path. It will be seen from highway seven by all passersby, and will be a first class project. Sounds really cool.
Two fish we in a tank. One asked the other “Do you know how to drive this thing?” Yikes. Think about it.
We also decided to help the veterans put up flags along our walking path. They are becoming small in members, and sure could use the help.
Great job Kiwanians.
The rest of the meeting was rather in house. Join up and see exactly what we do for kids and the community. Would love to have you on the team. Enjoy your weekend.
Hugs.
NEXT MEETING: Thursday, June 5, at 7 a.m. at Aurelia Community Center.
