FFA Plays Volleyball
By Alyssa Harper
On March 17, 2025, some members of the MMCRU FFA Chapter went to Westwood in Sloan, IA for the Sub-District volleyball tournament. In total, nine members attended, plus Mrs. Sarah Brady. Every year, teams get to dress up in funny costumes. This year, the chapter dressed up as the Inside Out characters, with Mrs. Brady as “Riley” from the movie. We had two teams of six, with Brady playing on the team with one less player. Brady also played on a faculty team. The chapter did not win for playing volleyball, but they won first place in costumes.
Drive your Tractor to School
By Alyssa Harper
On March 23, 2025, the MMCRU FFA Chapter held their annual “Drive Your Tractor to School Day”. Because of the unexpected cold weather during FFA week, we had to schedule it to the date above. Twenty-two kids participated in this, as well as Mrs. Sarah Brady. They line up at the Methodist Church in Marcus, then go down Main Street to the north end of town to take a picture. Although temperatures weren’t great this year, many kids persevered through the cold weather, to take this opportunity.
FFA Banquet By Alyssa Harper
The MMCRU FFA Chapter helps with many banquets throughout the year. So far, they have helped with two banquets, Trent Loos in Cherokee and the District Fairboard Banquet held in Marcus. There are typically six members present at each banquet to help serve and clean up. On Sunday, April 6, they have both the Lions Breakfast in Marcus and the Marcus Community Fairboard banquet. Many members step in to help Mrs. Sarah Brady with these banquets, making them run very smoothly.
