Fear is everywhere.

They see the picture of the Hmong man, a US citizen who was on our side in the Vietnam War, being hauled out of his home into the Minneapolis cold in his underwear. They know the goons would rather shoot first and ask questions later. Masked men with badges riddled Alex Pretti with bullet holes for attempting to help fellow Minneapolis protesters who had been pepper sprayed. They could aim for you.

So you lay low. That’s the whole point.

Fear the government. It will lock you up, then ship you out. Just pipe down or you could get beaten silly. No complaints, no problems. You don’t want that knock on your door.

The TV and the cellphone keep saying that nobody voted for this. This is not what we asked for, right? I could swear that Iowa did vote for this by a double-digit spread. Joe Biden was so sleepy that we would rather see an old Hmong man terrorized for no good reason, or see people executed without trial in a cloud of tear gas.

They say Trump didn’t campaign to deport good immigrants, because there aren’t any good ones in his book despite his current wife. As he said in Dayton, Ohio, in March 2024:

“I don’t know if you call them people. In some cases they’re not people, in my opinion, but I’m not allowed to say that because the radical left says that’s a terrible thing to say.”

They’ll eat your cat, kiddo.

“We’re going to have the largest deportation. We have no choice,” Trump told a rally in Racine in June 2024.

“Send them back. Send them back. Send them back,” the crowd roared.

Everyone knew what they were voting for. They had seen his act before.

Mexico closed off the border before Trump could get to it. It wasn’t so much about the border. Minneapolis is not El Paso. It was about harassing Muslims and arresting five-year-old Latinos named Liam.

ICE will raid Storm Lake if it plays well politically or if labor gets uppity. They are staying away because meat already is too expensive. We can’t afford to slow down the line. Trump’s guy Stephen Miller went after Tyson for hiring immigrants during the 2024 campaign but nothing came of it. Miller claimed that Tyson was depriving Americans of jobs. Tyson retorts that everyone is legal according to the government’s own E-Verify system.

You just stay in your place until ordered otherwise. Open the door, step out of your home and get your comeuppance. You were warned.

Forces controlling the government want you to believe you are in peril so that we remain paralyzed while our liberties are stripped.

The Mexican is stealing your job by laying sod and boiling blood. La Migra is coming for the Mexican. If you’re Black, remember that the cops lynched George Floyd, who was Black, blocks from where they shot Renee Good, who was gay. The shooter referred to her as a f——— bitch as the headless vehicle careened down the block.

We asked for this.

Iowa legislators are about to ban talking about gays in high school. They already removed Catcher in the Rye from the school library. They are attacking private colleges in Iowa. Dordt College must be too woke.

Don’t say gay or they might come for you. Don’t talk about Tom Paine or you might be accused of being a subversive. They can sue you for that. CBS is begging for mercy. Speech is free if you can afford it. Buena Vista University might not be able to afford it.

As long as everyone is mortified they won’t ask for a pay raise or clean water. They will take what they can get, which is better than a sharp stick in your behind or a slug of lead to the frontal lobe.

Iowa farmers voted for tariffs. They asked Trump to destroy 50 years of detente with China and give our Asian markets to Brazil. Who do they think they’re fooling, other than themselves? Farmers beg the USDA for welfare because they voted for this. Canada gave up on the charade and started trading canola for cheap Chinese cars and lots of investment.

It must be somebody else’s fault that we are stupid and self-destructive. Wipe that drool off your chin, Gomer.

Tariffs? Whoever heard of that? Mass deportation, how did I not get the memo? Losing a buck a bushel? Who bails me out?

Ignorance is its own reward.

Trump campaigned on terrorizing immigrants and restricting trade. Release the clutch on your pearls, this is precisely what America bargained for, and Iowa in particular. Sixty percent say they think he has gone too far. Just where did you think he was going?

Too bad that we had to flush freedom down the drain to prove that tyranny is a drag.
