Robert D. “Bob” Grienke, 71, of Cherokee passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Bob was born on Oct. 8, 1955, to Fred and LaVon (Holmes) Grienke at Storm Lake. He attended Washington High School. He worked as a welder and machinist for Caswell’s and then at Lundell Manufacturing and OBECO, before finishing his career at VT Industries for 17 years before his retirement.
In his free time he enjoyed drag racing, classic cars, astrology and creating metal art and welding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters.
Bob is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Raoul) Faulkner of Sanborn; five grandchildren: Allyson (Isaiah) Wallinga, Matthew Wallinga, Nevaeh (Bryce) Almager, Chayton Faulkner and Gavin (Lainie) Faulkner; one great-grandson, Cohen Wallinga; and sister Sue Rupp of Cherokee.
