Today I am making a decision that has not come easy for me. I ran for city council because I wanted to learn more about our great little city’s government and find ways that I could contribute. What I found was a bit disillusioning. Decisions are made haphazardly based upon who is in favor at the present. City policies and procedures are only followed when they suit the need and ignored when they do not. I have tried to represent all of the citizens of Cherokee by asking some tough questions only to be ignored and purposely left out of communications. The past several months has taken their toll and I do not feel that I can be party to this fractured process anymore. It seems the remaining council members will be seeking a like minded person who is willing to be told how to vote and not ask the questions that matter to the people of Cherokee. So, from this date forward I will be focusing on my family and their activities. I am resigning from the Cherokee City Council effective today, 2.25.2025. Thank you,
Tim Wych
