DOT gathering public sentiment on Hwy 31 bridge replacement

Posted

The Iowa Department of Transportation is gathering feedback on a bridge replacement over Highway 31 over Stratton Creek in Washta.

Construction is expected in 2029. The DOT estimated the project budget at $2 million. It’s one of three projects the DOT has planned for state infrastructure in Cherokee County over the next five years. All three projects are scheduled in 2029, according to a five-year plan the DOT published earlier this summer. The DOT is planning a $455,000 bridge overlay on Highway 59 near Grey Creek north of C16 and another $650,000 bridge deck overlay on Highway 3 east of Marcus.

Comments to the DOT must be submitted by Aug. 17. They can be made here.
