Douglas D Scott was born Aug. 16, 1945, in Cherokee. He passed away on Aug. 16, 2024, in Bellevue, Neb.
Shirley Arlene (Bruce) Scott was born on May 20, 1949, in Aurelia. She passed away on Dec. 24, 2024, in Bellevue, Neb.
Doug and Shirley were married June 1, 1968, and remained together for 56 years. They had three children: Kevin K. Scott, Nov. 16, 1968-April 23, 2006; Tracie M. (Scott) Derochie, born July 22, 1971; and Brian R. Scott, Dec. 28, 1973-March 20, 1994.
Doug and Shirley had many great adventures as they traveled around the country with their vending business in their early retirement. Doug loved fishing, hunting and gardening. Shirley was an avid quilter, she enjoyed playing cards and board games as well as lunches with her friends. They loved spending time with their grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
They will be laid to rest together Saturday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Aurelia. All are welcome to join the family as we celebrate their lives. Local arrangements under the direction of Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
