Swezey’s to open on a limited basis

Posted

In response to public interest and requests, it is our goal to have Swezey’s operate as a restaurant on a limited schedule in the near future. The Swezey Coalition would like to open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Swezey’s will still operate under the premise that all profits will go to local charities or fundraising events for non-profit organizations and/or individuals who need support due to unforeseen circumstances.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to your community and make meaningful differences in the lives of others.

To accomplish our goal, we will need many volunteers, cooks and assistants. Some paid positions will be provided. If you are interested in volunteering, cooking, or assisting, please contact Denise Green (229-9954) or Kate Glauser (229-3614). If we get enough volunteer interest, we will schedule a night to train the volunteers, assistants and cooks and enjoy a Swezey hamburger or two.

If there is no non-profit organization involved for a special event, the proceeds will go to the Coalition for disbursement to the local charities and non-profit organizations. You do not need to be a non-profit organization to have an event. You just need to have a need for a fundraiser.

Due to limited seating and colder weather, phone orders for future events can be called in advance by calling Denise or Kate. With your help, we can make Swezey’s a great place to make new memories and support Cherokee and surrounding communities.

Did we mention it’s fun and you get to hear people tell their memories of Swezey’s from the past.
